Description

Safflower Carthamus tinctorius is a plant in the thistle family which is famous for it’s seed oil, but it’s petals can create a wide variety of colours from yellow and orange-red, to coral and pink. One of the oldest cultivated crops with a variety of uses, it was notably used as a substitute for Saffron in early Spanish colonies.
